I just spoke with Shari again today. She thinks that 622 families should feel very confident that their currently EMID-enrolled kids will get the sign-off they need to continue with EMID schools until they "age-out" of the district. Transportation will be included for those kids by MDE. There is no date yet by which this deal will be done, but it's parameters are very clear.

However, she also thinks it is unlikely that siblings of currently enrolled EMID students from 622 or new families from 622 will get sign-off from 622 to attend EMID schools.

EMID has asked MDE to reconsider the question of open enrollment, but expectations are that MDE would likely come to the same conclusion: no open enrollment option for EMID.

So we still await a final deal, but the outline is getting clearer.

When will this be a done deal?? Has anyone heard? We need to know if we need to move out of district 622 before the new school year begins so that our son can continue attending Harambee.
