EMID-SOS Identity

I created this identity for EMID-SOS so that we could share the word quickly and effectively. EMID-SOS means “Save Our Schools.” But we all know that “SOS” is also the worldwide distress signal. In morse code the “S” is three dots and the “O” is three dashes, so “SOS” is written “dot dot dot dash dash dash dot dot dot”. Do you see that in the logo?

An SOS means that we need help. We want to save our schools, but we welcome other rescuers to help us do this. An SOS is an admission that we can’t do this alone, we need help and we need each other. Being in distress does not mean we won’t survive, and SOS is a hopeful cry: we will make it through this, help us do it!

If you want to show off the EMID-SOS message, check out this gear.

If you use the EMID-SOS identity for a project, please send us a picture of it in action. We’d like to share ideas for how people can get the word out!
